MODULE 1: WEEK 1

This module equips students with the skills and strategies needed to excel in the first two questions of AQA Paper 1. Through a carefully guided approach, learners will develop the ability to interpret textual detail with accuracy, avoid common pitfalls, and select the most effective responses under timed conditions. Featuring worked examples from past papers and examiner-aligned guidance, this module builds confidence and sharpens focus—laying a strong foundation for success in the rest of the paper.

MODULE 3: WEEK 3

Paper 1, Question 3 has changed — and this module gives you the updated tools to tackle it with confidence. Instead of vague waffle, you’ll learn how to write sharp, focused responses that zoom in on the writer’s structural choices and their intended effect. Whether it’s tension, sympathy, or shock, you’ll know how to link structure to reader impact using high-level phrases and a proven step-by-step method. With model answers, mnemonics, and 2026-style questions, you’ll turn this tricky question into a chance to shine.

This pivotal module focuses on AQA Paper 1, Question 4 - a 20-mark, high-impact evaluation task. Students will learn how to craft a balanced, thoughtful response to a critical statement about the text, drawing on evidence, technique, and interpretation to justify their position. With updated 2026 guidance, model responses, and step-by-step strategies, this module empowers learners to move beyond surface impressions and engage critically with the writer’s choices. Ideal for students aiming to elevate their analytical thinking and secure top-band marks.

This essential module focuses on the highest-marked task in Paper 1: the creative writing question. Updated for the 2026 specification, it equips students to write compelling, imaginative descriptions inspired by an image—demonstrating control, originality, and technical skill.

With structured guidance, practical planning tools, and high-impact techniques, students learn how to shape atmosphere, build emotional depth, and vary sentence structure effectively. This module shows students how to write with clarity, creativity, and confidence—maximising marks where it matters most.

MODULE 6: WEEK 6

This module guides students through the art of writing a compelling short story for AQA Paper 1, Question 5—updated for the 2026 specification. With 40 marks at stake, this task demands more than just creativity: it requires structure, precision, and control.

Students will learn how to plan effectively, select high-impact structures (such as in media res, flashback, or circular narrative), and use linguistic and structural techniques to deepen atmosphere and emotional impact. From crafting vivid characters to shaping a powerful final line, this module equips students to meet the top band criteria for both content and technical accuracy. Ideal for students aiming to stand out with writing that is purposeful, polished, and memorable.

Precision, Inference, and Comparison (2026 Update)

MODULE 7: WEEK 7

This module builds the core reading skills required for success in AQA English Language Paper 2. Fully updated for the 2026 specification, it covers Question 1, where students extract explicit information with speed and accuracy, and the reworded Question 2, which now emphasises inference when comparing key ideas across both texts.

With practical strategies, worked examples, and structured guidance, students will learn how to approach these early questions with confidence—developing precision in reading, clarity in comparison, and fluency in expressing links. This module sets a strong foundation for high performance across the rest of the paper.

Students learn how to analyse the writer’s use of language in non-fiction texts, focusing on word choice, imagery, and rhetorical techniques.

Through guided examples and structured practice, this module teaches students how to explain the effects of language precisely, link techniques to purpose, and write analytical responses that meet the top-level mark scheme criteria. Clear, methodical instruction supports students in moving beyond feature-spotting to deliver insightful, examiner-ready analysis.

MODULE 9: WEEK 9

This module focuses on one of the most challenging tasks in AQA Paper 2: evaluating and comparing how two writers present their ideas, feelings, and viewpoints. Now reworded for the 2026 specification to focus on commenting on methods rather than direct comparison, Question 4 requires students to infer attitudes, analyse techniques, and judge effectiveness with precision.

Through guided planning frameworks, model responses, and step-by-step support, students will learn how to compare writer perspectives with clarity, structure, and insight. Emphasis is placed on identifying tone, language, and structural choices—and evaluating how successfully each writer conveys their viewpoint.

MODULE 10: WEEK 10

This module tackles one of the highest-stakes questions in the entire exam: the 40-mark persuasive writing task in Paper 2, Question 5. This question demands both clarity of argument and technical precision.

Students will learn how to craft convincing viewpoints, structure compelling arguments, and write with confidence across a range of forms—from speeches to articles. The module equips students to use rhetorical devices with sophistication, respond effectively to counterarguments, and maintain a formal, engaging tone. With practical tasks, model paragraphs, and examiner-aligned checklists, this module builds real-world writing skills that boost marks—and leave a lasting impression.

Building on the foundations laid in module 10, this module offers students a practical, step-by-step approach to crafting top-grade persuasive writing under timed conditions. The focus remains on real-world writing forms - speeches, letters, articles, and essays - and on shaping arguments that are structured, compelling, and technically secure.

Students will learn how to plan under pressure, construct powerful openings, develop fluent paragraphs using the full range of rhetorical devices, and close with memorable conclusions. With model paragraphs, sentence-level guidance, and a Grade 9 checklist, this module bridges the gap between knowing persuasive techniques and applying them effectively in the exam.

MODULE 12: WEEK 12

This final module consolidates everything students have learned -transforming knowledge into performance. With a calm, focused approach, it equips students with the strategic tools needed to maximise marks across both AQA English Language papers.

Updated for the 2026 specification, it covers exam timing, question planning, proofreading, and the art of staying focused under pressure. Students will revisit each question type with targeted tips, a summary table of changes, and a final checklist to fine-tune their responses. The module also highlights how English Language skills support success in English Literature—reinforcing confidence across both subjects.

A vital bridge from preparation to performance, this module ensures students walk into the exam hall equipped, ready, and in control.

Designed for Year 10 and 11 students aiming for top grades (7–9), this 12-week online course covers the full exam in detail—equipping learners with the exact skills examiners are looking for.

Each module includes:

  • Downloadable resources, including worksheets, model answers, and planning frameworks.

  • Exam-specific strategies that go beyond the basics to support top-band performance.
